Will the BJP be able to clean itself up in Andhra Pradesh?

The BJP in Andhra Pradesh is in a strange situation. While its counterpart in Telangana is growing from strength to strength and is emerging as a credible alternative to the TRS, the AP unit is still struggling to gain a foothold. The party is getting weakened by each passing day. BJP watchers say those who have migrated into the BJP from the TDP are the main reason for the party's plight.
The party has several leaders who hold important positions, but play the tunes called by Chandrababu Naidu. Earlier, the party had only one or two leaders who protected Chandrababu Naidu's interests. But now there are many who are seen as Chandrababu's pointsmen in the BJP. The names of CM Ramesh, Sujana Chowdary, Nagabhushanam Chowdary, Lanka Dinakar, Nagotu Ramesh Naidu and Satyakumar are being touted as Chandrababu'sagents.
There are allegations that these leaders are reading the script prepared by the TDP. Recently CM Ramesh has said that the Central Government would clean up the AP police wing. It is an open secret as to at whose behest he is talking. They say that his statement is aimed at serving the TDP interests.
Many in the party feel that it is high time that the BJP cleanses up the system in the party. They argue that the BJP can never come to power with this kind of confusion. They also want the party to take immediate steps to ensure that the party works with a sense of purpose. But will the party be able to clean up its augean stables?
