Will The BJP Replace Raja Singh With Raghunandan Rao?

With the budget session set to get going, the Telangana BJP is planning to make Dubbak's firebrand MLA Raghunandan Rao as the party's floor leader in the legislative assembly. A decision to this effect has reportedly been taken.
Hitherto, the party had only one MLA. In the 2018 elections, only Raja Singh managed to win. He represents Goshamahal and by virtue of being the sole MLA of the party, he has been made the leader of the party in the Telangana assembly. But, language problems and lack of understanding of statewide issues have made Raja Singh ineffective. There is a general feeling that Raja Singh has been ineffective in raising issues in the house. Now that Raghunandan Rao has won in the byelections to Dubbak assembly constituency, the party is seriously considering making him the floor leader. With his wife experience and articulation skills, he can make a very effective presence and play a better role in the house, the party feels. On Friday, Raghunandan Rao is set to meet Raja Singh and discuss the issue. Raja Singh had vigorously campaigned for Raghunandan Rao during the Dubbak elections. It remains to be seen how Raja Singh will take the decision.
