Will Venkaiah Naidu Raise His Voice For AP Special Status Now?

Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu has an illustrious career any politician could have. Starting as an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad(ABVP) member Naidu Garu went on to hold key positions and see greater heights. He recently completed his tenure as the Vice-President of India and received a stunning send-off.
He hails from Andhra Pradesh's Nellore district. When the Union government kept silent on the pending issues and kept on skipping the special category status, saying that the episode is a closed one, Venkaiah Naidu did not react as he held a Constitutional post and he should not speak about politics.
Now he is free from the posts and there are no restrictions on him. We have to wait and see if he can raise his voice against the injustice done to the divided Andhra Pradesh. Forget about the special category status, the union government led by Bharatiya Janata Party is not even allocating any projects to the state.
When the BJP was in opposition in 2014, he demanded that Andhra Pradesh should be given special status. In Rajya Sabha, Venkaiah Naidu gave an intense speech and demanded the grand old Congress party which was in power then. Saying that the bifurcation episode did injustice to AP, the status should be given.
But he did not make any noise or demand the BJP leadership for such demand due to various reasons. He was made the Vice President so he could not address the political issues.
Recently, Venkaiah Naidu was felicitated at an event titled Atmiya Sammelan and the event was held at Narsingi. At the event, Venkaiah Naidu reportedly said that he would now talk about the issues without any restrictions.
With Venkaiah Naidu having no restrictions now we have to wait and see what the 73-year-old politician would do as far as the state interests are concerned.
It is also said that Venkaiah Naidu would stay away from politics and he would not get back to active politics. So the former Vice President would not take up any posts and positions. Given his age, BJP might not also consider him for any posts.
