In the election affidavit filed by Manik Sarkar who is running for fifth consecutive term for Dhanpur Constituency, The CPM Stalwart mentioned he don't even have a house of his own and stays in CM's official quarters since the past 20 years. Bank Balance was just Rs 2,410.16 by January 20th, 2018. In 2013, He had a bank balance of Rs 9,720.38 in the same SBI account.
Manik Sarkar begun election campaign with just Rs 1,520 cash in hand. He had Rs 3,000 cash in hand during 2003 polls and Rs 1,080 cash in hand for 2013 elections.
Non-Agricultural Land of 0.0118 acre at Krishnanagar area in Agartala is being owned by Manik Sarkar. It's an inherited property.
Sarkar's Wife Panchali Bhattacharjee who is a retired Govt Employee have 20,140 cash in hand and 20 grams of gold. There are Rs 12.15 lakh in savings accounts and fixed deposits.
