With Omicron cases rising,Delhi Govt imposes new restrictions

The newly detected Omicron variant is ringing danger bells in the national capital Delhi. The infections caused by the new variant in the region are increasing steadily forcing the administration to take the required measures to contain the virus spread. As a response to the existing situation, the government imposes new restrictions.

In the wake of the Omicron scare, the Delhi government had imposed a night curfew and the establishments would run with half occupancy that too between the prescribed time limits. Restaurants, Delhi Metro, Buses that travel to other states will run with 50 percent occupancy.

The shops and shopping malls that fall under the non-essential services will be permitted to run between 10 am to 8 pm that too in the odd-even rule. The construction work will not be stopped and the industry can run the business.

Cinema halls and multiplexes, Banquet halls, auditoriums, Spas, gyms, yoga institutes, entertainment parks, Schools, colleges, educational institutions, and coaching institutions shall remain closed until further notice.

The new restrictions were announced by the Delhi government after a key meeting chaired by Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) chief, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. As the situation turned problematic, new restrictions were imposed.
