Ever since the ongoing pandemic hit India, the authorities and government have been appealing to the public to not celebrate any functions and anniversaries with more number of attendees as that might lead to the spread of the virus.
A woman had to pay a huge price for celebrating Birthday and Wedding anniversary in Jharsuguda of Western Odisha which resulted in 17 people getting infected with the virus.
Going into details, a woman came from Gurgaon to Jharsuguda on the 14th of June with her husband and her son tested positive for the virus and asked to stay in lazaretto.
Violating the norms, the lady celebrated her son's birthday and invited her neighbors. On top of that, she attended a wedding anniversary celebrations and infected 17 people.
The heads of both the families were booked by the police for violating the norms. Cases were filed under Section 15 of the Disaster Management Act and Sections 296, 271, and 188 of IPC.
