Hyderabad Woman Gives Birth to Quadruplets

In a rare case, quadruplets were born to a 23-year-old woman at ESI Hospital, Nacharam on Friday.M Rajitha from Boduppal gave birth to the quadrupets(three boys and a girl) at around 10 a.m. through Caesarean section.
The babies were born with low weight but all are healthy and kept in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the hospital. The mother is also doing well.
Doctors, who performed the surgery, said this was the first time that quadruplets were reported from an ESI hospital.The babies are active and are weighing around 1.5 kg and babies are now kept in the ICU
Quadruplets are a rare phenomenon that occur once in 70 lakh births. There are less than 4,000 such cases reported worldwide. Normally quadruplets are either aborted or born as premature babies.
