Law and Justice, Electronics and Information Technology and Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has held a Video-conference with the IT Ministers of all the states and discussed the measures taken by the states to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and the usage of new technology.

In the conference, Ravi Shankar said that the work from home facility provided for the IT and BPO companies was extended till the 31st of July keeping in mind the current situation. This turned out as a piece of good news for the software employees

"I have relaxed norms for working from home. It was to end on April 30, I have extended it to July 31," Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

Speaking at the conference, Telangana IT Minister KTR mentioned that countries like Japan have decided to shift their manufacturing units from the dragon country China and if we take measures to bring such companies to India, that will, in turn, fetch employment opportunities for Indians.

KTR went on to say that, the public started using the internet widely as everyone is confined to their homes and the Centre should take the required measures to boost the broadband network.
