Pawan's Birthday is now World Coconut Day

September 2nd, which happens to be Pawan Kalyan's Birthday, could no more be a special day for Mega fans alone. Even Coconut Lovers will have a gala time after the Coconut Development Board decided to celebrate this day as World Coconut Day every year.

The theme of 'World Coconut Day 2015' is 'Coconut for Family Nutrition, Health and Wellness'. Around 500 Coconut Farmers from across the country will attend the function held at Vijayawada on September 2nd to celebrate the World Coconut Day. At least 75 percent of them are the coconut-farmers from Andhra Pradesh.

The Coconut Development Board will set up an exhibition at the venue bringing into display latest technologies in coconut production.

Currently, AP occupies top spot in coconut productivity at 14,997 nut per hectare. While it occupies 4th place in terms of area (1,21,920 hectares), Even in terms of Production the state is at fourth spot with 1828.46 million nuts.
