As former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly's tenure was over, the question was raised. To put an end to that long speculation, BCCI called for the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
At the AGM, former Indian captain Roger Binny was elected as the next BCCI chief. For the past few days, Sourav Ganguly has been hinting that he is not going to get a second chance as the BCCI supremo.
Making this true Ganguly was not retained and Roger Binny is elected for the plum post. He is the 36th person to serve as the chief of the BCCI. But what makes him unique is that he is the first person from the 1983 World Cup-winning team to lead the body.
BCCI chief is not a small post as the person sitting in the post can make wonders as the head of the richest cricket board in the world. A few times, former Indian players became the BCCI chief. But most of the time people who are not familiar with cricket were made the chief of BCCI.
