World's First Man To Receive Covid-19 Vaccine Passes Away Due To Unrelated Illness
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 May 2021 7:11 AM GMTAs a bid to contain the spread of the Covid virus, several countries have started vaccination drives earlier last year. When the vaccination drive had started, an elderly person who goes by the name William Shakespeare has created history by becoming the first person to receive the vaccine dose. He had received the vaccine dose on Dec 8, 2020.
Now the person made it to the headlines for one more time as he breathed his life on Tuesday. As per the local British media, he lost his life due to Covid-19 unrelated illness.
He was administered the vaccine jab at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. Shakespeare was given the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine dose. Reports claimed that he lost his life after fighting illness for a short period of time.
William Shakespeare was popularly called Bill by the locals. He had earlier worked with the Rolls Royce car company. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and grandchildren.
"Bill will be remembered for many things including a taste for mischief. He was such a lovely man, one who had a real commitment to making his local area better. During the lockdown, local families will have enjoyed walking amongst the trees planted by Bill and his colleagues in Allesley back in the 1980s. He was also very involved with the creation of the Coundon Wood in 2005 and in fundraising for the purchase of Elkin Wood, now managed by the Woodland Trust in 1997," Coventry councilor Jayne Innes said on Facebook.
