The world’s oldest person, Misao Okawa is no more. She has died nearly a month after celebrating her 117th birthday. Okawa died of heart failure today.Born in 1898, great-grandmother celebrated her 117th birthday on March 5 . Misao Okawa was surrounded by her family and staff at her nursing home in Osaka, Japan

Born on March 5, 1898, the great-grandmother had lived through two World Wars. Misao married Yukio Okawa in 1919 and had three children (two daughters and one son), of whom her son, Hiroshi, and daughter Shizuyo survived her.Her husband died on June 20, 1931. She had four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was able to walk until she was 110, when she began using a wheelchair to prevent falls. Okawa said that sushi and sleep were the reasons why she lived so long. On her 117th birthday, When asked about the secret of her longevity, she replied, jokingly, "I wonder about that too." With demise of Okawa Gertrude Weaver, 116, from Arkansas, USA, now world's oldest person.
