OMG: Worm Found In IKEA's Veg Biryani!
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Sep 2018 4:42 AM GMTJust three weeks ago first IKEA outlet has been launched in India and that too in Hyderabad on a grand note. This isn't only the largest furniture showroom in the city but also a place where 1,000 people can dine at once.
Much to the shock of a Customer named Abeed Mohammad, A Caterpiller was found in the Veg Biryani he ordered at IKEA Hyderabad. He quickly brought the matter to the notice of Minister KTR, Hyderabad Police and few Mediahouses.
GHMC served notices to IKEA for flouting norms and imposed a fine of Rs 11,500 on IKEA for inappropriate waste segregation/use of plastic covers. Food Safety Officials collected the food samples and sent them for tests. They came to know that food served at IKEA wasn't cooked at the store itself but procured from a Nagpur-based snack manufacturer in either semi-cooked or frozen condition.
IKEA apologized for what has happened and assured corrective measures after finding out the reason.
