The First Accused to be Hanged Till Death!

Yakub Abdul Razak Memon is the first accused to be hanged in connection with 1993 Mumbai Serial Blasts. On Tuesday, Supreme Court rejected his curative petition which is the last legal option for a convict. As a result, Mr. Yakub will be hanged on July 30th, 2015.
A Chartered Account by profession, Yakub Abdul Razak Memon was declared as convict in the year 2007. Since his arrest at the Nepal border in 1994, He has been in the prison and was found guilty of plotting the blasts, distributing explosives and execution the whole operation. While 10 peoples death sentences was commuted to life imprisonment, He is the only one and the first accused to be hanged for 1993 Mumbai Blasts.
Yakub obtained two Masters Degrees from Indira Gandhi National Open University - while one in English Literature, The other in Political Science. He is the brother of Ibrahim Memon who is one the main accused in Mumbai Blasts and fled from country in 1993.
