The Andhra Pradesh government has been facing severe criticism over the poor road condition in the state. The opposition parties have been attacking the government over the same and putting pressure on the ruling party to repair the roads. The Janasena party is using social media to raise the issue.

Amid heavy backlash over the road condition in the State, YSRCP jumped to issue a clarification on the roads condition. Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy defended the government.

Talking about the issue, the Minister blamed the continuous rains in the state for the potholes and waterlogging on the roads.

The Minister said that the rains are falling in the state in YSRCP ruling. Heavy rains come with heavy water. Due to this, we are facing issues with water logging and Potholes. The government is acting fastly and taking all the required measures to see that the issue is addressed.

Drawing a comparison between the progress made in the state during the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and YSRCP, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said in the previous regime roads covering 330 km were made. During our regime, roads of 970 km were laid already and the works to finish the remaining length of roads would be finished at the earliest.

Taking visuals of one or two places, TDP and its tail Jana Sena are doing unnecessary rant and we are least bothered about them, said Peddireddy.

The Minister breathed fire on the TDP and Jana Sena for targetting the government over the road conditions. Saying that both the parties are trying a make a fuss of widely circulating the pictures and videos of the potholes in one or two places in the state, the Minister maintained that the government is not worried about such unfair criticism and that doesn't bother them.

The Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy went on to add that, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy chaired a review meeting on the road condition and the decision to lay new roads for a large stretch and to look into the potholes issue was taken during the meeting.
