YCP Calls Welfare Schemes As Investments, What About Returns?

With the flagship Navaratnalu schemes, the ruling YSRCP is covering almost every sections in the society. The ruling YSRCP is hopeful that the welfare schemes would bring it to power.
However, there is a strong criticism that the welfare schemes are pushing the state into debt trap and the state needs developmnt and not freebies. The opposition parties are breating fire on the ruling party on this. But the YCP is not ready to change its stand.
Andhra Pradesh's borrowings reached big heights which is very concerning. In Parliament the Union Ministers said the same replying to questions asked by the Parliament members from the state. Earlier, a report said that Andhra Pradesh is among the states that are taking borrowings in big numbers.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is also againist the culture of freebies. When a petition on this reached the Supreme Court, former Chief Justice Of India NV Ramana support Centre's stand on this and said that the culture of freebies should be stopped.
However, the likes of Delhi and Tamil Nadu governments moved the Supreme Court and said that the government is helping the poor with welfare.
Now Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy gave a new name for freebies culture. He psoke to a nataional media outket ahead of the Global Investors summit and made some interesting comments.
Hitting back at the criticism, Jagan said that others might call the welfare schemes as freebies but he is seeing that as future investment in people.Usually people make investments for better returns. There is no clarity on how the welfare schemes can be investments. The YSRCP might get benifited by getting votes. But the schemes are leaving heavy toll on the state economy.
