Teachers MLC Elections: YCP In A Bothering Situation?
X
The election fever had gripped Andhra Pradesh. Ahead of the general elections, the state is gearing up for the MLC elections under various quotas. The election schedule was issued recently and the parties are busy making efforts to win the polls. However, the ongoing developments say that the YCP might face troubles.

Leaving the other polls aside, the ruling party might face a tough time in the teachers' quota MLC elections. It is known that government employees are fighting for the address of their long demands, be it the payment of salaries on time and other benefits like pensions.

Given the fact that the teachers are angry at the ruling party and took part in the Chalo Vijayawada protest, their votes might be a deciding factor and they can even make the ruling party candidates lose the elections. However, it is said that the ruling party is trying its best to pacify the teachers.

Eyeing the MLC elections in Rayalaseema, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Director B. Pratap Reddy was appointed as the Regional Joint Director (RJD), Kadapa. The appointment raised many eyeballs and the opposition parties alleged that YCP wants to impact the polls with his appointment.

Pratap Reddy is said to have met teachers keeping the elections in mind and tried to manipulate the teachers into voting for the ruling party candidates. Several objections were raised against this.

Following this, Members of the Legislative Council from the Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) and a few Telugu Desam Party leaders moved Andhra Pradesh chief electoral officer Mukesh Kumar Meena and complained against Pratap Reddy and sought his dismissal.

However, the Chief Electoral Officer sent a memo to Pratap Reddy directing him to give a response to this. On top of this, he was directed to not move out of the YSR Kadapa district without intimation. If he wants to move then he should inform the Chief Secretary.

This restricts him from working for the candidates backed by the YSRCP in other regions. So there are high chances for the YSRCP to face a tough time in the MLC elections as per the new developments.
