Yeddy Laughs His Way As Siddhu, Devegowda Fight
X
Years ago, they were guru and sishya. Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah was former PM Devegowda's ardent disciple in politics. He learnt ropes from Devegowda and worked closely with him. But, when he began growing bigger for his boots , Devegowda booted him out by suspending him from the party. This led to acrimony and back-biting between the two. They suddenly turned dire foes. Siddu joined the Congress Party and in 2006, JDS and the BJP paired up for the bypolls to defeat Siddaramaiah in the Chamundeswari assembly bypolls. Despite their best efforts, Siddu managed to win by 277 votes. Since then, Siddu went from place and grow up in ranks. He then became a CM.

But for the 2013 assembly elections, he and Devegowda again joined hands. But, the acrimony appears to be only continuing. Of late, both the leaders are trading barbs and are criticising one another. This began during 2018 elections and continued all through till the Kumaraswamy government fell. After the government fell, the fight has only intensified now. They are trading charges against one another and this is proving to be an achelles' heel for the Congress and the JDU.

All this is music to the BJP ears. The BJP is finding the going easy as both the Opposition stalwarts are sniping at each other.
