Actress-turned-politician RK Roja is a firebrand politician who doesn't shy away from using hard language to lash out at her opponents. Given the fanism she has towards Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, it was expected that Roja would be given a spot in the Cabinet after the 2019 general elections.
However, she could get a Cabinet post given the equations. But luck had shone on her side and she was selected as the one of the Cabinet Ministers for the new cabinet which will be set up very soon. An announcement was also made in this regard.
In the previous Cabinet, women legislators were given a chance to serve the public, but they were not popular leaders and many didn't know their names also. Keeping this in mind, the Andhra Pradesh government is said to have thought that a known lady face should be there in the house.
Though it was a tough competition, Roja was given a chance by the government. The reports of Roja being considered for the plum post started doing rounds as Roja started to cut down her shows and reality shows on the small screen. She had begun to reduce her shoots. Making the reports true, Roja was inducted into the new Cabinet.
While Roja was taken into the cabinet, it is interesting to know what Ministry she will be given. Though a few media reports say that she might be given a ministry related to the welfare field, nothing is confirmed yet and we have to wait and see what the government will offer Roja.
Roja spoke to the media after her spot in the new Cabinet was confirmed. Speaking to the media, Roja said that she is very grateful to CM Jagan for picking her for the cabinet post and said that she will work for Jagan till her last breath.' Roja made it clear that she will not do films and won't take part in Jabardasth or any other shows to respect the position she will be holding soon.
For the past few days, Roja has been on a spree of visiting famous temples and shrines. Her prayers were addressed as she was picked as one of the members of the new Cabinet of Andhra Pradesh. It was earlier reported that 10 members from the previous Cabinet were retained.
