YS Jaganmohan Reddy promised to implement liquor prohibition in Andhra Pradesh in three phases. 'If we implement liquor ban all of sudden, Addicts will rely on alternative methods. We need to create awareness about its side effects & implement ban in a phased manner,' he told.s
First Phase: Reduction of existing Liquor Outlets, Removal of Belt Shops & Hike in Prices. We will be using Cinema & TV Platforms to create awareness among people. Rehabilitation Centres to be arranged in every constituency. We would urge Centre, other States and Supreme Court to implement liquor prohibition.
Second Phase: We will ensure only the Super Rich can afford Liquor by making them available in 5-Star Hotels alone. Only Individuals who could bear the expenses of Liver ailment will be able to consume liquor.
Third Phase: 7 Years Jail Term for those who produce Liquor & sell it.
