Jagan offers to pay Rs 19 Lakh per Acre

YS Jaganmohan Reddy is trying to corner TDP Government by making corruption allegations. He took up Polavaram issue to gain people's support. While on one side he is raising the issues of the tribals who lost their livelihood because of Polavaram project, On the other side he has got a specific plan to trouble the state government.
After touring Kunavaram, Etapaka, VR Puram mandals, Jagan alleged Polavaram project is only meant to benefit contractors and sub-contractors. 'The cost of Polavaram project is estimated to be Rs 16,000 crore. Now, AP Government increased the estimated budget to Rs 36,000 crore. When the prices of diesel, petrol, sand, iron, cement and steel were low, How come the cost of the project grow abnormally? Finance Minister Yanamala's relative is a sub-contractor of Polavaram project. The cost has been escalated only to benefit such people,' he says.
Jagan faulted disparity in compensation paid to the people who lost their lands due to Polavaram. He questioned, 'Why people of a region were paid Rs 12 lakh per acre, when others are being paid Rs 19 lakh? If I come to power, Rs 19 lakh will be paid to each acre'.
