YSR Congress Honorary President YS Vijayalakshmi reached Delhi on Sunday to console the party MPs who submitted their resignations and took up indefinite fast demanding Special Category Status.
YS Vijayamma: 'YSR Congress is the only party fighting for Special Status relentlessly. Special Status isn't a closed chapter, it's the right of five crore Andhrites. Since four years, YS Jagan has been holding Yuva Bheris, Deekshas and Meetings for achieving it'.
Criticizing TDP Government and Centre for undemocratic practices, YS Vijayalakshmi opined: 'While Assembly Sessions were conducted without Main Opposition, PM Narendra Modi ensured debate doesn't happen on the No Confidence Motion though YCP issued notices for 12 times. What kind of message Babu and Modi wants to send to the people? YCP's fight for Special Status willn't end. There is nothing impossible to achieve. For achieving Special Status, Jagan took the risk that no party chief would take…he made MPs resign and take up indefinite fast. What did the Leader with 40 years of experience do so far? Bifurcation happened at a fast pace but Rulers neglected the implementation of the promises. What about Morals and Values in politics? Governments haven't even come forward to hold discussions with the MPs staging protest. State and Centre have the responsibility to console Mekapati who got hospitalized. Chandrababu is known for Twisting Statements and Backstabbing. Whereas, YSR & Jagan can't be compared with him. YSR used Padayatra to know people's problems and now Jagan is following his Father's footsteps. I am confident that My Son would offer much better rule than My Husband'.
