YSRCP attack on party MLA: Workers blame Talari for activist's murder
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 May 2022 7:32 AM GMTThe attack on Gopalapuram MLA Talari Venkat Rao by the members of his own party, the YSRCP, is now turning out to be a political slugfest. The MLA, who has to ensure blows and punches from his party workers, is now trying to shift the blame on the opposition TDP. He is claiming that the attack was planned and executed by TDP leaders, who incited the YSRCP workers to attack him.
It may be recalled that YSRCP activist Ganji Prasad of G Kothapalli was brutally murdered the other day. The local YSRCP leaders have blamed the MLA of plotting to kill the party leaders. On Saturday, the MLA went to console the family members of Ganji Prasad. But, the irate YSRCP workers, who gathered in large numbers, thrashed him and landed punches on his face.
The police had to literally fight their way and rescue the MLA from a public thrashing. The attack has grabbed headlines across the state and has become a hot topic of discussion.
The MLA later said that he had tried to patch up between Ganji Prasad and his rivals. But, he pointed out that the TDP workers have managed to influence the YSRCP workers and made them attack him. However, the YSRCP workers have deeply resented the statement and said that the MLA was behind the murder of the ardent Jagan fan and party worker.
They pointed out that if the TDP was involved in the incident, several of the TDP leaders would have been arrested by now. But, nothing of that sort has happened. They also said that by claiming that the YSRCP workers were under the influence of the TDP leaders, the MLA was only insulting the party cadre’s commitment and loyalty to the party.
