YSRCP bags one more ZP

After two weeks waiting, the suspense over Nellore ZPTC chairman has ended through a lucky dip as both TDP and YSRCP enjoys equal number of ZPTC support.
The election ended up as a draw with both the parties getting equal number of votes (23). Finally the district collector decided to go for lottery and in the lucky draw, YSR Congress got both the Nellore ZP Chairman and Deputy Chairman posts
YSRCP ZPTC member Bommireddy Raghavendra Reddy was elected as the Chairman of Nellore Zilla Parishad through lottery.YSRCP too bagged the vice-chairman post. Sirisha elected as vice-chairman.
Of the 46 ZPTCs, YSRCP contested ChairmanÂ’s post with 23 members, while with the support of YSRCPÂ’s eight ZPTCs, the TDP got 23 seats.Initially YSRCP won 31 ZPTC and TDPÂ’s strength was just 15 , later 8 ZPTC of YSRCP supported TDP to push its strength to 23 and YSRCP strenght also became 23. With this, the officials have no other option than tossing a coin. In the toss, the YSRCP got the post ultimately.YSRCP cadre expressed much happiness and shouted that Justice has prevailed.
Earlier in the morning, Lottery was conducted for co-option members too.YSR Congress and Telugu Desam Party won each of the two members.Needless to say the ruling party will be certainly disappointed with this result.
