YSRCP is a divided house in Srikakulam district

Groupism is raising its ugly head in the ruling YSRCP in the north Andhra district of Srikakulam. Not just the sitting MLAs, even the party’s constituency incharges are facing heat from the rebels. The rebels are attacking the sitting MLAs even while professing absolute loyalty to the party’s top leadership.

In Etcherla assembly constituency, the rebels are now coming out into the open. Earlier, they used to hold meetings in secret. Now they are organising public meetings and are very open about their opposition to sitting MLA Gorla Kiran Kumar. The sarpanches, MPTCs, senior leaders and others from Etcherla, Laveru, G Sigadam and Ranasthalam mandals have been holding meetings to oppose the MLA’s rorking style. They allege that the MLA was ignoring the loyal workers of the party.

Ditto with Amadalavalasa, which is represented by no less that Speaker Tammineni Sitaram himself. Senior party leaders Kota Govinda Rao, Chintada Ravi Kumar, Suvvari Gandhu have openly rebelled against the Speaker. Dissidence is quite strong in Amadala Valasa, Ponduru, Burla and Sarubujjili mandals.

In Tekkala, the YSRCP is divided into three warring groups each led by MLC Duvvada Srinivas, former Union minister Killi Krupa Rani and Perada Tilak. The cadre is sandwiched between these groups. The lack of coordination among the leaders is proving to be the bane for the cadres. They feel it’s high time that the high command stepped in to solve the problem of groupism.
