YSRCP looking for glam faces for 2024 campaign
By: Tupaki Desk | 22 March 2022 5:44 AM GMTThe ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh is looking for "Star" campaigners for 2024 elections While YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the only face of the party that can get the votes, the party is also scouting for some star power. Unfortunately for the party, there aren’t many who can woo the voters.
In 2019, Jagan had the support of YS Sharmila and YS Vijayamma, who represented the YS Legacy. Both are now estranged and Sharmila is busy with the YSRTP in Telangana. Her husband Anil Kumar, who stitched up a Christian coalition in Jagan’s favour, too has fallen out. He is trying to cobble up an anti-Jagan BC coalition.
The film industry icons like comedian Pruthviraj, Ali, Krushnudu and character artiste Jayasudha are now spent forces. The Mohan Babu family is unhappy and sulking. Though some stars like Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna have their sympathies with YS Jagan, they are not likely to come out into the open campaign for him.
As of now, only three faces are visible. One is comedian Ali, actress politician Roja and Posani Krishna Murali. All the three have limitations. Ali would not be taken seriously, while Posani can rouse the masses with his punch lines, but is unable to convert them to votes. Roja is a good candidate, but she would be tied down to Nagari constituency. So, the YSRCP is now on the lookout for suitable glam faces that could seek votes in favour of the party.
