YSRCP men behind Amalapuram violence?

It is now emerging that most of the key persons involved in the Amalapuram violence were close to the ruling dispensation. In fact, many of them are known to be close to Minister Pinipe Viswaroop and MLA Ponnada Satish Kumar, whose houses were burn in the violence on May 24.
It may be recalled that there was large-scale arson, looting and violence in Amalapuram on May 24 protesting against the renaming of Konaseema district as Babasaheb Ambedkar Konaseema district. Thousands of people came out in a procession and attacked the house of Pinipe Viswaroop and Ponnada Satish. Both the leaders had to flee their homes to save themselves.
The arsonists set fire to shops, vehicles and RTC buses to oppose the decision. The violence spread to places like Ambajipet, Ravulapalem and other areas. Section 144 had to be imposed and special forces had to be requisitioned to bring the situation under control.
The police arrested one Cheekati Veera Venkata Satya prasad, who gave details about the other people involved in the incident. He also revealed that messages were exchanged on specially formed Whatsapp Groups to wreak havoc and cause destruction. Based on Satya Prasad’s information, cases were also registered on Mattaparthi Raghu, Mattaparthi Murali Krishna, Vasamsetti Subhash and Satya Rushi. All these are known to be the supporters of Pinipe Viswaroop. They are currently at large.
