YSRCP rebellion ends up as a mere storm in a tea cup

The sudden explosion of dissidence and anger in the YSRCP after the new council of ministers was constituted is subsiding slowly. Most of those who raised a banner of revolt appear to reconcile to the new reality. They are now claiming that they had nothing against YS Jagan over losing their ministries, but added that they would stand by YS Jagan come what may.

Leaders like Balineni Srinivas, who were livid at being excluded from the ministry, raised a banner of revolt. He refused to budge for quite some time. But, three discussions later he became ready to meet YS Jagan. After meeting Jagan, Balineni fell in line and started singing loyalty tunes. Senior leader Samineni Udayabhanu too expressed displeasure at being ignored. But, he finally said that he was a loyal soldier of the party.

Nellore MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Chirala MLA Karanam Balaram openly expressed their dissatisfaction. Sridhar Reddy even shed copious tears. But at the end of the day, he too said that he was Jagan’s trusted man and that he would do whatever Jagan wanted him to do. The likes of Perni Nani and Kodali Nani appeared stoic and said that they were as happy as they were when they were made minister.

The only one sulking is Mekatoti Sucharita, who held the Home portfolio in the last council. She tried hard to meet YS Jagan but on every occasion. Jagan did not give her an appointment. She has even gone to the extent of submitting her resignation. Once Jagan gives her an appointment, she too is likely to mellow down. Thus, YS Jagan ensured that the rebellion against him was no more than a storm in the tea cup.
