YSRCP sacked its MLC, why TDP is not sacking its accused leaders?
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 May 2022 8:04 AM GMTMLC Ananta Babu's sordid episode has left the YSRCP deeply embarrassed. The Party was caught unawares and found itself on the dock due to the act of indiscretion of an individual. But, the party quickly recovered from the shock and promptly sacked him from the party. Though slightly belated, the decision has established the party's intent and approach.
The TDP, which is trying to make this an issue, is targeting the YSRCP on Ananta Babu's issue. But, is the TDP any different on the issue of criminalisation of politics? Well! The TDP cannot claim the high moral ground because it has its own cupboard full of skeletons. At least two of its key leaders are facing cases of murder and attempt to murder.
But, both the leaders, both former ministers, have neither been sacked from the party nor admonished. The party is unabashedly backing them. Former minister Kollu Ravindra is the prime accused in the murder of YSRCP leader Moka Bhaskar Rao. The police have arrested him. Instead of acting against him, the TDP has openly backed him.
Another minister Bhuma Akhila Priya too has been accused of plotting to kill her political adversary AV Subba Reddy. Her husband Bhargava Ram is now out on bail in this case. Bhuma Akhila Priya herself is accused of trying to kidnap a person. She too has been arrested. Even in this case, the TDP backed them fully and said that their arrest was nothing but political vendetta.
Does TDP have a different yardstick when its party members are involved in crime? Why has no action been taken against these two leaders? Though belated, the YSRCP has taken action on its MLC? Why is the TDP backing out?
