YSRCP Unable To Break Rajahmundry Jinx

Why are YSRCP's attempts to re-energise the party organisation in Rajahmundry always coming to naught? This is tormenting the party's thinking heads these days. Its plans to reactivate the party are failing to take off. Recently, the party has appointed Chandana Nageswar, a young leader, as the incharge for the city. But even has become inactive.

Rajahmundry is one major city after Visakhapatnam that has rooted for the TDP instead of the YSRCP in the 2019 assembly elections. Both the seats in Rajahmundry seat went to TDP. While veteran leader Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary won from Rajahmundry rural, young Adireddy Bhavani won from Rajahmundry urban. The Rajahmundry YSRCP is plagued by several problems.

To set the party organisation right, the party top leadership has so far changed three incharges for the urban constituency and two for rural constituency. Urban coordinator and former MLA Akula Satyanarayana is unwell and is inactive. Though Chandana Nageswar was made the incharge for the rural constituency, he is facing a problem of a different kind.

As for Chandana Nageswar, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy nominated him as the chairman of the Rajahmundry Smart City. It's been three month, but he is yet to take oath. The problem is that Rajahmundry has not been included in the list of Smart Cities and hence the State government cannot technically appoint him as the chairman. As a result, he has no office of his own. So, he cannot be sworn in as the chairperson. With this, even this coordinator has become inactive these days.
