The politicians of Etcherla assembly constituency in North Andhra have taken a decision to defeat their own friend and partyman. Yes. The YSRCP leaders, money bags and other influencers have resolved to defeat their own MLA in 2024 elections. They have decided to work against him and vote against him.

The MLA in question is Gorla Kiran Kumar, who is considered quite close to the YS family. The relationship extends from his father Gorle Haribabu's time. Interestingly, despite his proximity with the YS family, Haribabu could never become an MLA. His son Kiran Kumar lost the 2019 elections by 7000 votes, but won by an impressive margin of 18000 votes in 2019.

But soon after winning from Etcherla, he began to alienate the party leaders and workers who had toiled for him. He is said to have gone closer to the realtors and other businessmen. Most of his decisions too are said to be pro-realtors. This has caused a lot of heart-burn in the YSRCP and the party leaders are slowly moving way from him.

Recently, these leaders have held a meeting, where they decided to defeat the sitting MLA in the next elections. They have warned the party leadership that they would ensure that he would not return to the assembly again. Senior leaders like Sanapala Narayana Rao and Lukalapu Appala Naidu too attended the meet.
