Zaira Wasim who played the childhood role of Geeta Phogat in 'Dangal' hails from Kashmir. Recently, She met Jammu & Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti along with her parents and discussed about her experiences working for 'Dangal', Education & Career.
Kashmir Separatists came down heavily on Zaira Wasim for meeting CM at the time when attacks were continued on the youth in the state. The Teenager was trolled on social media.
Following the backlash, Zaira Wasim said she had no clue why this has become such a big issue. 'I hope people still remember that I'm just a 16 year old girl and I hope you treat me accordingly. I'm sorry for what I did but it was not a deliberate decision and I really hope people can forgive me. Neither I wish to be a role model nor am I proud of what I achieved so far,' she told.
Former J&K CM Omar Abdullah came in support of Zaira Wasim. He faulted forcing the 16-Year-Old to apologise for just meeting Mehbooba Mufti.
