Zero Percent Literacy in this CM's Hometown
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 Oct 2015 4:38 AM GMTIt might be shocking to know that the home town (SEMALIYA PATHAR) of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Sehore district have not even a single literate. In fact, This falls in the constituency represented by Foreign Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Semaliya Pathar is just 60 km away from Madhya Pradesh Capital. About 500 tribals including over 50 children live here. Whenever these people receive a letter, They walk 5 km to know what was written in it.
Even Union Government's initiative Right To Education Act didn't bring a change in their lives. Lack of school in the village could be one of the reasons behind illiteracy. Children have to walk through hilly terrain for about 7 km to reach primary school. Politicians have promised to built a school several times but nothing was done till date.
