Zoom App Puts RSS In A Fix
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 April 2020 4:55 AM GMTThe Union Home Ministry's advice not to use video-conferencing app Zoom has put many social and political organisations in a fix. The most affected is the RSS and its attendant Sangh Parivar.
Ever since the lockdown was put in place, RSS and its affiliates have been using Zoom to connect with its workers and activists. The organisation has been conducting daily meetings through Zoom for its workers. Several issues are being discussed in these meetings, which are attended by several people. At least over 50 such Zoom groups are operating in Telangana alone. This has enabled the RSS discuss its ideology without breaking the lockdown rules. But, now that the Home Ministry has advised the people against using Zoom as it could be used by the Chinese to hack into Indian accounts and access sensitive information, the RSS leadership is said to be in a fix.
While some say one should abide by what the government says, the other group says that since the meetings are not discussing anything sensitive, there should be no cause for concern. However, the data of the participants could be stolen, argue some. Let's see what the RSS does now.
