Residing in Kamareddy for her schooling, she experienced severe chest pain near the premises and subsequently collapsed. A vigilant school teacher quickly took her to the hospital, where despite initial treatment efforts, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), she was later pronounced dead due to the heart attack at a second medical facility. This devastating event left the school community in mourning, with teachers and peers expressing their shock and sorrow over the untimely loss of such a young life.
Sri Nidhi's untimely demise echoes a disturbing trend of cardiac incidents among the youth, as highlighted by similar occurrences in Aligarh. Months prior, Mohit Chaudhary, a 14-year-old Class 6 student from Sirauli village, suffered a heart attack and died while preparing for an annual sports day event. His collapse during a practice run added to the growing concern over young students facing such grave health risks. Furthermore, an eight-year-old girl named Diksha, also from Aligarh, passed away from a heart attack while engaging in play with her friends, further accentuating the alarm over these unexpected cardiac events among children.
The increasing instances of cardiac arrests, particularly in young individuals, have prompted medical experts to urge immediate attention to any signs of heart distress. Professor M Rabbani from Aligarh Muslim University underscored the significance of this issue, stating, "If any healthy person dies within an hour, it is called sudden cardiac arrest. This has increased by 22 per cent in the last 20 years. If a child complains of shortness of breath and chest pain, he should be examined immediately." This advice highlights the critical need for awareness and prompt response to potential heart-related symptoms to prevent such tragic losses.
The community grieves for Sri Nidhi, with her body being returned to her hometown for final respects. The impact of her sudden passing, alongside the other recent cases, underscores a concerning rise in cardiac incidents among the youth, urging both the public and medical professionals to take heed of warning signs and seek timely intervention.
