Anticipating the future, whether it's about stocks or the world's condition, is always exciting. Imagine if we share a forecast about this year's world with you. But hold on, let's clarify first. In 1924, it was a trend for newspapers to predict life a century ahead, and that's what happened a hundred years ago from today.

In 1924, newspapers took a stab at foreseeing life a century later, in 2024. One quirky prediction suggested horses might vanish, uncertain if entirely. However, cars were expected to surge, a prophecy that hit the mark. Another foresight, accurate as well, was the rise of podcasts. The crystal ball also hinted at human life expectancy reaching 100 years, deeming 75-year-olds as young.

Certain predictions turned into reality, such as towering skyscrapers reaching 100 stories and family albums transforming into motion pictures. The optimistic vision of movies fostering global harmony and becoming a universal language, however, didn't quite come true. Trains were expected to speed up twofold or threefold, equipped with onboard film theaters. Watching movies at home did become a reality with the advent of OTT platforms, and onboard entertainment became a travel amenity.

The 1924 article had some unusual predictions as well. It suggested beds tossing children out in the morning instead of alarm clocks waking them up. There was also an assumption that by 2024, people would be hopping from one planet to another. Additionally, it mentioned the possibility of clothes flying and men's legs withering due to underuse.
