Shocker: Indian Cricketer Arrested in R*pe Case!

In what could be considered an extremely shocking incident, a young Indian cricketer who had even played in the IPL has been arrested by the police in connection with a ra*e case filed against him.

Incidentally, Bengal cricketer Abishek Porel, who has played for Delhi Capitals in the IPL, was arrested by police in Hooghly district following allegations that he had sexual relations with a woman on the promise of marriage.

Porel was arrested by the Mogra police late Monday night and is likely to be produced before a court in Chinsurah later on Tuesday.

Police have registered a case against the cricketer under several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 69, along with provisions of the Information Technology Act, police sources said.

Earlier, a woman medical student from Karnataka lodged a complaint against Porel at Mogra police station on June 23, alleging that they had been in a relationship for around three-and-a-half years and had planned to get married.

India is a country where cricketer enjoy superstar status, and they are thoroughly followed by the younger generation of the population. So it is extremely shocking to see this individual getting caught in a physical assault case against a woman.

There is the responsibility on the Indian cricket authorities to take strong action so that cricketers do not set the wrong example for the future generations.
