Coming Up In AP: Amaravati Cricket Stadium!

It is already known that the NDA government has strongly taken up the sports infrastructure project in Andhra Pradesh. After several years, the IPL action has returned to the Vizag city in Andhra Pradesh, followed by the ongoing Andhra Premier League.

In this context, the latest developments are suggesting that the government of Andhra Pradesh has finally announced the Amaravati cricket stadium project officially.

This new project is intended to develop a world-class cricket Stadium in Amravati with seating capacity of 60,000, which makes it one of the biggest sporting venues in India.

The best thing about this stadium is, it is a multi purpose facility. While it primarily serves as a cricket Stadium, it can later be altered and used for other sports and activities as well.

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) President and Vijayawada MP, Kesineni Shivanath, announced plans to build the second-largest cricket stadium in India in Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

The estimated cost for this project is in the range of ₹300 crore and the state government is proposed to allocate 40 acres for the same. While the exact construction timeline is not yet revealed, the chances are that this project could be completed by the 2029 Andhra Pradesh election.
