Lal Krishna Advani, the co-founder of the BJP was selected for the highest civilian award. The same has been communicated with the senior leader by Narendra Modi and extended his congratulations.
LK Advani had an inspirational journey in politics. He started as a legislator and even served as the Cabinet Minister. The veteran BJP leader is a former Deputy Prime Minister. In the 90s, he was the face of the BJP and put in his best efforts to make the party strong.
Another coincidence is that LK Advani was selected for the highest civilian award weeks after the inauguration of the Ram Mandir. It was the moment that millions of people waited for.
Weeks after the occasion LK Advani, whose Rath Yatra paved the way for changing the status quo of the situation in Ayodhya is picked. In the 1990s, the Ram Mandir movement was at its peak. The Rath Yatra he conducted added fuel to the fire and we all knew what had happened post the Rath Yatra.

His Rath Yatra played a key role in making the BJP strong and after the Yatra, BJP emerged as the second largest party in the Parliament elections in 1991.
