Air Ahmedabad Mystery: What’s Latest Update?

It is already known that the highly controversial crash of the air India plane in Ahmedabad is still a mystery so as to what led to the collapse. The Air India Boeing 787‑8 Dreamliner that crashed after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport in June 2025, claiming the lives of 241 passengers and crew, has come under renewed scrutiny due to its long history of technical problems.

Investigations and reports reveal that the aircraft, which had been in service for 11 years, experienced repeated electrical and technical issues throughout its operational life.

These included recurring circuit breaker trips, faults in avionics, short circuits, smoke and overheating incidents, and wiring problems. Safety advocates argue that such persistent defects raise questions about whether they could have contributed to the crash.

The Foundation for Aviation Safety (FAS) highlighted that despite multiple incidents reported over the years, there was no significant intervention to address these electrical problems, prompting concerns about the oversight of the aircraft’s maintenance record.

India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is still conducting its official probe, and authorities have not confirmed a direct link between the plane’s past technical issues and the crash. Experts stress that, given the Dreamliner’s reliance on complex electrical systems, any history of faults should be carefully examined before conclusions are drawn.

The incident has reignited debates over airline safety standards and the monitoring of aircraft with long operational histories, emphasizing the need for stricter scrutiny to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
