Nagarjuna Donates Rs. 2 Crore for Student Scholarships at ANR College
During the event, Nagarjuna paid emotional tribute to his father, legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, popularly known as ANR.

The donation will be used to provide scholarships for students.
Nagarjuna visited the college as the chief guest during its Diamond Jubilee celebrations, marking 75 years since the institution was established in 1950. On this special occasion, he also inaugurated a newly constructed building on the college campus.
During the event, Nagarjuna paid emotional tribute to his father, legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, popularly known as ANR. He recalled that his father had donated Rs. 1 lakh to the same college in 1959, a significant amount at that time. Nagarjuna said that his father always believed education was the foundation for a better society.
Speaking to students and guests, Nagarjuna shared that although ANR did not receive formal education, he deeply respected learning and knowledge. He explained that his father’s life experiences made him understand the importance of education, which is why he supported institutions that helped shape future generations. Continuing that legacy, Nagarjuna announced the Rs. 2 crore scholarship fund to support deserving students.
The event saw the presence of several notable personalities, including Naga Susheela, Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, and Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu. Students, staff, and alumni welcomed Nagarjuna’s contribution with great appreciation and applause.
ANR College management expressed gratitude, stating that the donation would make a lasting difference in the lives of many students especially those from financially weaker backgrounds. The scholarship fund is expected to help students focus on their studies and build successful careers.
