We had already reported that Amazon had already fired over 30,000 employees globally, and it appears that their sizing down operations are not slowing down in the future either.

Fresh layoffs at Amazon have once again highlighted the growing impact of automation and artificial intelligence on jobs in the technology sector.

The company recently cut positions in its robotics division, a unit responsible for designing robots used in warehouse automation. According to reports, at least 100 white collar employees were affected in the latest round of job cuts.

The layoffs come as Amazon continues to restructure its operations and focus more on efficiency through advanced technology. The robotics team plays a key role in developing machines that help move products inside the company’s massive warehouse network.

This is not the first time Amazon has reduced its workforce. Since 2022, the company has cut tens of thousands of corporate jobs as part of a broader cost cutting and restructuring strategy. Many of these decisions are linked to the increasing use of artificial intelligence and automation, which allow companies to perform tasks with fewer employees.

Interestingly, the job cuts come even though robotics remains a strategic focus for the company. Amazon continues to invest heavily in automation to improve speed and efficiency in its warehouses.

The latest layoffs show how rapidly technology is reshaping the job market. Even employees working in advanced technology divisions are not immune to the changes brought by AI driven transformation.
