Anjani Kumar’s Suspension Lifted? What’s Next!

The Telangana political landscape saw a powershift with the Congress party coming to power and two-time winner BRS falling short of the win. The election results were announced on the 3rd of this month as per the election schedule. The results day saw a big development with a top cop facing the heat.

Amid the positive trends for Congress, Director General of Police (DGP) Anjani Kumar met Revanth Reddy with a bouquet. The meeting became the talk of the town and even went to the notice of the Election Commission of India (ECI). The election body suspended him. Other officials who accompanied him also received notices.

Now the issue has taken a big turn with the ECI reportedly revoking the suspension. As he was allegations of violating the Model Code of Conduct, Anjani Kumar is said to have given an explanation to the EC on his actions.

As per the media reports, Anjani Kumar gave an explanation to the authorities which satisfied them. With this, Anjani Kumar faced a big relief as the suspension was revoked.

Anjani Kumar and a few other officials meeting Revanth Reddy when the vote counting was underway raised many eyeballs and even went to the notice of the Election Commission of India. Taking a serious note of this, he was suspended. As Anjani Kumar was suspended, ACB Director General Ravi Gupta was appointed as the DGP in his place.

Now the doubt many have is what is in the box for Anjani Kumar. In his place, a new DGP was appointed. With the suspension getting lifted we have to wait and see what would be the future with him. Will he get re-appointed as the DGP or will he get another big post? We might get clarity on this in a few days.
