By: Tupaki Desk | 24 May 2025 5:11 PM ISTAs we had reported a couple of times in the recent past, the cinema exhibition sector in Andhra Pradesh had announced an indefinite strike starting from June 1. It was communicated that the exhibition industry is suffering due to the practises of distributors and producers.
However, with deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan film Hari Hara Veera Mallu announced for release on June 12, it was always going to be tough for the theatres to enforce a bandh.
In this context, the cinematography minister of Andhra Pradesh, Kandula Durgesh has issued a new communication where he breathed fire on the forces behind this complex situation. He even issued a strong warning to those behind this operation.
The film industry in our state is not only a reflection of deep cultural values but also a source of livelihood for thousands of families. Any attempts to create unnecessary controversies using this industry as a tool will not be tolerated.
We will move forward keeping in mind the interests of the public, the rights of artists, and the welfare of the workers in the industry. No matter who is responsible, we will not spare them, the cinematography minister tweeted a short while back.
A committee is being formulated to sort out the logistical and financial activities behind this operation, and this will bring a safe and to the whole situation.
