Crorepati Battle: How AP Beat Telangana?

After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the fiscal matters and also the individual asset holder classes had also largely separated. This is again to be understood from the fact that the number of individual crorepatis in Andhra Pradesh are largely higher than that of Telangana.

Coming to the latest information that has surfaced on social media regarding the taxation numbers and assessment of individual fiscal policy, Andhra Pradesh has significantly more crorepatis than Telangana.

While Andhra Pradesh has 5340 crorepatis who have more than Rs 1 crore with them, Telangana has just 1260. It must be noted that Andhra Pradesh is nearly 4 times more powerful than Telangana in this bracket of individual assets.

The natural expectation is that Telangana has significantly higher fiscal boost than Andhra Pradesh, considering the fact that it has a global city in the form of Hyderabad.

However, that is not even remotely the case as it appears that Andhra Pradesh people still hold the baton over Telangana. While this might not obviously constitute a direct comparison between the two states, the difference in the number is obviously grabbing the attention here.

Coming to the national level, Maharashtra has over 1.24,00,000 people who have more than Rs 1 crore with them. This is the highest tally for any state in the country and understand the episode due to the fact that Mumbai is the financial capital of India.

It can also be noted that Delhi has 20,500 people in this bracket while Uttar Pradesh has 24,000 of them.
