What A Stat! AP/TG GDP Bigger Than Entire Pakistan?
As it turns out the combined GDP of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana itself is marginally bigger than the lower of GDP of Pakistan as a country.
By: Tupaki Desk | 23 May 2025 11:11 AM ISTIndia’s neighbouring nation, Pakistan is known for its provocative and problematic attitude towards our country. The recent terror incident that happened in Pahalgam, which subsequently substantiated the Operation Sindoor is indicative of the prevailing situation.
While we have this on one side, there is this one interesting statistic that is blowing up the mind, and they have something to do with the GDP of Pakistan when compared to that of two Telugu states in India.
As it turns out the combined GDP of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana itself is marginally bigger than the lower of GDP of Pakistan as a country.
As of the fiscal year 2023-24, Andhra Pradesh has achieved a Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of approximately £15.4 lakh crore, which is about US$180 billion. This marks a significant increase from & 5.05 lakh crore in 2014-15, reflecting a growth of nearly 197% over a decade.
On the other hand, we have Telangana, which coincidentally also has a GDP of $180 billion. This way, the cumulative GDP of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, it itself is amounting to $360 billion.
The interesting thing here is that the cumulative GDP of the two Telugu states itself is bigger than the overall GDP of Pakistan as a country, which happens to be around $338 billion.
Well, Pakistan is obviously liking behind the financial resources and the overall development index, it is strange for them to pick up a fight with India occasionally.
