The Andhra Pradesh High Court issued a stay on the construction of the Jagananna house in the R-5 Zone in Amaravati. The three-judge bench comprising Justice DVSS Somayajulu, Justice Manavendranath Roy, and Justice Ravi Nath Tilhari issued a stay and issued interim orders.

The three-judge bench heard petitions that were filed seeking directives to stop the house construction in the R-5 zone of Amaravati and issued interim orders. After hearing the arguments of both sides the bench pronounced its decision on the supplementary petitions.

It is known that the issue of allotting lands to nonlocals in Amaravati and house construction there has been pending in the court for some time. Earlier, it was reported that the Amaravati farmers are saying they gave lands to the capital and lands or houses should be allotted for only them.

At the same time, the YCP government made a key decision saying that the poor should also be given a chance. While allowing the house site distribution, the Supreme Court gave interim orders directing them to follow the final verdict. The AP government also distributed the house sites. Later, house construction for the poor was also started in the capital region.

Amid this, the farmers moved the High Court asking how the house construction can be started even before the final verdict in the house site distribution comes.

As part of this, Farmer welfare associations of villages in the capital region and Rayapudi Dalit Bahujan Welfare JAC filed petitions in the High Court challenging setting up an R-5 zone in Amaravati for giving house sites to non-locals, GOs transferring the power to allot 1402 acres Guntur, NTR district Collectors, and house construction process.

Now the High Court issued a stay on house construction in the R-5 zone in the capital Amaravati region. The state government was directed to stop the construction of houses. The interim orders in this regard were issued on Thursday. Following this, the observers say that the YCP might blame the TDP saying that the houses cannot be made available due to the opposition.
