The kind of impact that artificial intelligence is having on the global workforce is beyond comprehension as several thousands of human workers have been losing jobs consistently.

But Artificial Intelligence has not yet caused large scale job losses, according to a new report released by AI research company Anthropic. The study says that despite growing fears about automation, there is currently no clear evidence of a major rise in unemployment caused by AI technologies.

The report analysed how AI systems are being used in real workplaces and compared their capabilities with actual job data. Researchers found that although many tasks can technically be automated by AI tools, the technology is still being used in limited ways across industries. As a result, its impact on overall employment has remained small so far.

However, the study also highlighted some early warning signs. Hiring for younger workers and entry level roles appears to be slowing in professions that are more exposed to AI, such as coding, data analysis and customer support. This suggests companies may be gradually relying more on automation for routine tasks.

The research identified several job categories that could be more affected in the future. These include computer programmers, customer service representatives and data entry operators, as AI systems are increasingly capable of performing many tasks involved in these roles.

Despite these risks, experts say the current evidence does not point to a massive wave of job losses yet. Instead, AI is more likely to change how people work rather than completely replace workers, with many industries expected to adapt by creating new roles and reskilling employees.
