Jana Sena-TDP alliance can sink YSRCP in this constituency

If there is one constituency in Andhra Pradesh, where an alliance between the TDP and the Jana Sena matters most, then it is Mummidivaram in Konaseema district. If there was an alliance between the two parties, sitting YSRCP MLA Ponnada Satish would not have won at all. This time to, he can be easily unseated, if these two parties come together.

In 2014, Ponnada Satish barely scraped through thanks to the division of the anti-YSRCP votes. In fierce contest, the Jana Sena had cut into the TDP votes, enabling Satish to emerge victorious. In 2019 too, Jana Sena had eaten into the TDP votes. Its candidate Pitani Balakrishna's presence has ensured Satishh's victory.

This time too, TDP's ex-MLA and former runner-up Datla Buchi Babu is the constituency incharge for Mummidivaram and is all set to contest on the party ticket. Pitani Balakrishna is the constituency incharge for the Jana Sena. Satish is likely to be renominated by the YSRCP this time too.

If there was to be an alliance between the Jana Sena and the TDP, the Kapu, Setti Balija and anti-YSRCP votes will come together to unseat Ponnada Satish. However, if there was to be no alliance, then Satish could be third time lucky and may benefit due to the division of the anti-YSRCP votes.
