The ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh which is eyeing a second consecutive election win is giving in its best efforts to woo the voters. Besides banking on welfare schemes, the party is also focusing on planning events to engage with the voters. Recently it was reported that Jagan might embark on a yatra.

All these aspects gave birth to speculations and reports of possible early elections in the state. These reports caught everyone's attention and people started discussing the possibility of Andhra Pradesh seeing early elections.

Giving a big twist to the tale, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is said to have given clarity to the leaders and in-charges on this and ruled out the possibility of the early polls. In his recent meeting with the leaders, the Chief Minister is said to have cleared all the doubts on this.

Media reports are abuzz that in the meeting with MLAs, in-charges, and district chief of the party, Jagan said that the elections will be held in six months from now and the time should be utilised for the best to get close to people and stay in the public.

The comments made by Jagan started a new debate on whether he indirectly said there is no question of early elections in the state. These comments cleared many doubts on the possible early elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Looking at the issue from a critical point of view, TDP and Janasena allied for the polls and the alliance won the 2014 elections. Though the BJP was also a part of the alliance, it has no strength at the root level so the credit goes to TDP and Janasena.

Winning the next polls is the need of the hour for both parties and they will put their best efforts. In regions like West Godavari and others, the alliance might stun the YCP. On the other hand, Anti-incumbency is a part and parcel of politics and YSRCP is not prone to it.To address all these things the party needs some time. So the ruling party might not prefer early polls.
